Les Mardis de la Musique – Musical Tuesdays

If you like chamber music and early music, then you won’t want to miss “Les Mardis de la Musique, de la musique de chambre N°5”. During this event, you will enjoy “A Musical Dream”, a piece of English music from the 17^th and 18^th centuries.

If you wish to be a part of this musical experience, head to the Salon d’Honneur de l’Hôtel de Ville de Valence on Tuesday 5^th of April, at 6:45 p.m. Here’s an overview of the programme:

Arts & Facs 2022

Arts & Facs is a show entirely dedicated to the artistic creations of Valence’s talented students. This artistic event – which is one of the most highly anticipated of the season – will be held on the 14^th and 15^th of April at 8:45 p.m. at the city’s theatre. The open stage was designed by the students, a Fil Rouge artist, and industry professionals. The result is a genuine artistic licence which brings together various modes of expression. This incredible moment will also reveal new talents and invite you to create beautiful memories, rich in emotion and excitement.

Luna Llena

If you love flamenco, then the La Movida Festival has something in store for you: Luna Llena. Two dancers will take you on a journey as they perform a modern interpretation of Orpheus and his mythical descent into Hades. Accompanied by the voices of Rosa Linera and Antonio Mena, guitarist Ati Tampi de Capanema, and percussionist Pierre Moretti, the dancers lead you into a reflection on the issues affecting women in the 21^st century. This masterpiece takes you on an introspective journey that highlights the difficulties in finding where one belongs. The play will be performed on the 22^nd of April at 8:45 p.m., at the city’s theatre.

Laurent Coulondre, Tribute to Michel Petrucciani

Pianist Laurent Coulondre pays tribute to a musician whose musical journey inspired his own: jazzman Michel Petrucciani. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the great musician’s death as befits him, Laurent Coulondre will be playing alongside Jérémy Bruyère on the bass and on the double bass, as well as André Ceccarelli on the drums. Together, they will bring the pianist’s entire repertoire back to life and show us the incredible musical language that is jazz.

If you want to enjoy this unique experience, head to the Maison de la Musique et de la Danse, 32 avenue George Clémenceau in Valence, on the 5th of May, at 8:30 p.m. Jazz lovers will relish the melodic lyricism of this moment of pure musical bliss.

Season Closing, how about one more little song?

Fancy one more little song before the summer festivities begin? Enjoy a lovely May evening celebrating the season closing on the 21^st or the 22^nd at the Valence Theatre. During the event, cello player Pascal Coignet will be joined by professional and amateur French singers, including Claire Mercier, Émilie Llamas and Hélène Piris.

These artists are the writers and composers of their own rock, swing, and classical repertoires. Their talents meet at the crossroads of this incredible event which will also welcome the students from Jazz Action Valence and the Musaval musical ensemble. The Conservatoire de Valence’s children’s choir and other music students will come from everywhere in the region to participate in the gathering.

This wonderful musical evening will be held on the 14^th of May at 8:45 at the city’s theatre. Composer Pascal Berne will be the one to write the arrangements and manage the students’ work. All for you to enjoy a moment of musical magic!
