Coronavirus: A New Vaccination Centre in Valence, France

    Coronavirus: A New Vaccination Centre in Valence, France

    A Coronavirus vaccination centre just opened its doors in the city of Valence, in the French region of Drôme. It is located at the Maison de la Vie Associative (Community Centre). Let us take a look at this brand-new Covid-19 vaccination centre!

    Covid Vaccination in Valence: A New Centre to Get Your Shots

    First and foremost, you need to know that the new Valence vaccination centre was opened in addition to two other centres that had previously been set up in the area. At the Valence hospital, 500 people are indeed being vaccinated each day, and the same goes for the Étoile-sur-Rhône centre.

    In the city of Valence, the goal is to be able to vaccinate over 2000 people per day for the medium term. Thus, as of Monday, 3 May 2021 at 10 a.m., you can get your shots at the brand-new centre located at the Maison de la Vie Associative, 74, route de Montélier (previously Bachelard secondary school).

    Covid Vaccination in Valence: A Progressive Startup

    The city of Valence has stated that the vaccination startup would be a gradual one. As of right now, the centre only receives 1500 doses a week. This means that, at the beginning, 250 doses will be administered each day.

    Then, as the vaccine becomes more widely available and demand rises, the pace will pick up. The centre aims to reach a goal of 3000 doses per week, which will equate to 500 shots each day. The Valence vaccination centre is already poised to achieve better numbers in order to become a very high-capacity hub.

    Covid Vaccination in Valence: How It Works

    The vaccination centre in Valence only dispenses the Pfizer vaccine. In other words, only those people who are eligible for this particular shot will be vaccinated. It is also worth noting that you need to make an appointment if you wish to be received and vaccinated at the Valence centre.

    In other words, if you go there without having booked a time slot, you will not be able to get your shot. Once you get there, you will need to produce your “carte vitale” (French healthcare card) and ID.

    For your information, the centre is open from Monday to Friday, from 8.15 a.m. to 7.15 p.m. If you wish to make an appointment, you will need to do it through the Doctolib website (only if you are eligible for the vaccination).

    Covid Vaccination in Valence: How to Get There

    Even though on-site parking is possible, it is recommended to use public transportation to get to the vaccination centre. The following bus lines stop nearby:

    • 7 ;
    • 6 ;
    • C1.

    Covid Vaccination in Valence: Calling Upon Healthcare Professionals

    An appeal was made to all retired healthcare professionals to dispense the shots. All available healthcare professionals are welcome to help if they wish to do so. They can report themselves by contacting the Valence vaccination centre directly or by going there in person.

    Covid Vaccination in Valence: Progressing Rapidly

    It is worth keeping in mind that many centres previously set up have now moved to accommodate an increase in activity. In Montélimar, for instance, the vaccination centre is no longer located in the Nursing School, but in the Saint-Martin Hall, which is much larger and will make it possible to vaccinate more people each day.

    The same goes for the city of Aubenas, whose vaccination centre used to be located in the facilities previously used as the hospital ER and has just been transferred to the Roqua gymnasium. Soon, the centre will be able to vaccinate almost 1000 people every day, which shows how rapidly the vaccination against the Covid-19 virus is progressing. So, you can stay peacefully in Valencia.
